** Vital Congregations - free training for clergy and laity - on meeting your goals, sponsored by the Virginia Conference! Coming to Northern Virginia on May 12. Click here for more information and to download the brochure.

The mission of The United Methodist Church is to “Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” (Matt 28:18-20 & Matt 22:36-40) This mission is achieved through vital congregations that equip and empower people to be Disciples of Jesus Christ in their homes and communities around the world. - from www.umc.org

Across The United Methodist Church and the Virginia Conference, churches are becoming "Vital Congregations” by setting goals for the next four years in five key areas: Worship, Disciples, Small Groups, Mission Participants and Mission Giving.

Each church will submit its goals by March 1, 2012, and goals will be presented at General Conference.
