Disaster Response

To navigate within the Bi-District Resources pages,
use this drop-down menu (click go):

Make sure the district office has accurate contact information for your church's current Disaster Response Coordinator.
Why Disaster Response?
Response and Recovery happens on five levels at once:  Conference-wide efforts, work of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), district response and recovery, local church efforts, and community support. Disaster response and recovery is one of the ways we can show the love and be the hands, feet, and face of Jesus in the efforts we make in the community and around the world.

CONFERENCE DISASTER RESPONSE TRAINING:

Update - February 1, 2011:
United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) Team Leader Training is changing its registration process. The cost will be $50 to be paid when you register. The fee covers the cost of the handbook, meal, refreshments, and handouts. Handbooks will be at the training sessions for those who have preregistered.

Registering for the team leader training has not changed. Go to the Virginia Conference website to find a list of trainings available. Click on the location to register and prepay.

More training will be scheduled at a later date.
