Have you heard about “Accept the Challenge – Rise Up – Rebuild Lives?” It’s the catchy title for the Rising Hope United Methodist Mission Church’s capital campaign, which is coming to your local church! Rising Hope’s capital campaign, which was unanimously approved at last October’s Alexandria District Conference, is focused on continuing the transformation of lives through capital repairs and improvements to better serve those most in need. Our campaign goal is to raise $500,000, pledged to be given over a three year period; for replacing aging kitchen equipment, purchasing a new church van, and paying down debt so that resources can directly support ministries.
Sometimes we need to be reminded about the impact of Rising Hope:
“Rising Hope is a living witness in the saving grace of Jesus Christ … whenever I visit, I am just filled with joy.”
“Our connection with Rising Hope has been critical in developing a church with a heart and passion for mission.”
“Rising Hope’s mission to the poor is a model for the entire denomination.”
“Without churches like Rising Hope, ministries like it, and people from all sorts of communities supporting the people there, we could not build the Kingdom.”
“2,800 Hypothermia beds provided annually, 10,000 food pantry visits per year, 16,000 soup kitchen meals annually, & 20,000 clothing closet visits per year.”
As we roll out the Rising Hope capital campaign through sub-district information sessions, make sure your local church and congregation has an opportunity to support this valuable ministry in our district. If you haven’t heard about the campaign, ask your pastor, lay leader, missions chairperson, or Rising Hope BFF (you know who they are!).
This is not a one-size- fits-all campaign, so be creative in how you and your church can support our ministry to ‘the least, the lost, the lonely, and the left out.’
