The
2011 Annual Conference will be held June 15-19, 2011 at the Roanoke Civic Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The
conference will open at 7 PM on Wednesday evening, June 15, with a laity session.
Selection of a nominating ballot for clergy delegates for General and Jurisdictional
Conference will be included as part of the Clergy Session. An opportunity to meet laity candidates for delegates to General
and Jurisdictional Conferences will be offered following the Laity Session. Opening ballots for both laity and clergy will
be conducted during the Thursday, June 16, morning session of Annual Conference. Additional ballots will be received throughout
the Annual Conference.
In addition to your church's lay delegate to the annual conference, each District Conference holds elections
for at-large district delegates.
Election of delegates for 2011:
a) 2011 is a voting year
so there will be the election of delegates for teh general and jurisdictional conferences as well as for annual conference.
b) The delegates for these three conferences will be elected at the 2010 District Conferences
for Alexandria and Arlington Districts, which are held on the following dates this year:
Alexandria District
- Saturday, October 16, 9:30 AM at Franconia UMC, Alexandria
Arlington District - Saturday,
September 25, 9:00 AM at Floris UMC, Arlington (this is combined with another Congregational Vitality Event, click here for details.
